Values Roll out in Pernod Ricard

Background

 Pernod Ricard in Ireland were faced with the challenge of rolling out values of 'real', 'remarkable' and 'responsible' to all staff as part of their transformation programme for the business in a successful, high growth environment.

 

The company ran a number of communication sessions in Ireland and decided to reinforce this by organising an inspirational trip to South Africa to build community and teams and to help embed the values.

 

What we did

 

We designed and delivered a values workshop as part of the programme in Cape Town. The workshop was designed to engage all staff and build on the good work already done during the roll out workshops in Ireland. Terri Morrissey of This Is.... facilitated the workshop assisted by 6 internal facilitators from the Leadership Team

 

The workshop was designed to encourage all participants to think about what the values meant for them personally in their day to day work

       To share personal stories of REAL< REMARKABLE< RESPONSIBLE

To produce a collection of these stories for the future

To have fun, craic and introduce an element of competition

 

The workshop involved:

        Engaging the large group in a set of exercises designed to achieve the overall      

        objectives outlined above

Producing a set of stories, using a structured format

Using a "knock out" process to produce a shortlist of "winning" stories

 

The first part of the workshop was carried out in Cape Town and the second part on Robben Island. 

Outcome

 The workshop was a great success. The location of Robben Island proved to be a  memorable venue for the participants and helped bring to life the importance of values in shaping behaviour and creating a high performance environment.
